Project CLoCC Mechanical Engineer wins IGEM accolade
One of Project CLoCC’s Mechanical Engineers working at industry partner Premtech, is celebrating after he came first runner up in IGEM’s Young Person’s Paper Competition.
The annual competition open to under-35 year olds, celebrates the best and brightest young people from around the gas industry. Nine finalists were selected after winning their regional section heats to gain their places in the final at IET Austin Court in Birmingham.
The contestants submitted a 250 word abstract about their project back in February, then participated in regional rounds the following month to give presentations on a range of innovative projects they had led, or been involved with.
In the grand final in June, a team of judges from across the gas industry read detailed 1,500 word reports about the projects then listened to the presentations before making their choice.
Project CLoCC’s Mechanical Engineer was first runner up representing the Midlands Section, with his paper Project CLoCC: Customer Low Cost Connections. You can read his paper on page 16 of the August edition of GI magazine below.
